    These grants are being offered to support projects in areas of child welfare. For best consideration, applicants should clearly identify the outcomes they seek to achieve with specified grant activities and develop measurable objectives to determine progress in achieving these outcomes. Projects could include the following:
    • Data, Monitoring & Quality Assurance
    • Educational Stability
    • Family Engagement
    • Kinship Care
    • LGBTQ Foster Youth
    • Preventing Sex Trafficking
    • Quality Representation
    • Transitional Youth/Cold Case
    Special Requirements Training projects require a template of the pre post training knowledge assessment tool, measuring skills gained by participants, must be developed and accompany application.

    The Maryland Judiciary, Administrative Office of the Courts, Department of Juvenile and Family Services administers this grant. Funds appropriated by the state to provide financial assistance to State and local units of government, non-profit organizations and institutions of higher education within the State of Maryland to assist state courts in improving safety, permanency, and well-being outcomes for abused and neglected children in the child welfare system.

    Award Details

    The availability of funds is contingent upon the provision of funds in the Maryland Judiciary budget by the Maryland General Assembly for Fiscal Year 2019. Applicants who are awarded funding will receive notice in June of 2018. Award amounts vary. There is no cost sharing/matching required.
