    Summary

    The Governor's Crime Commission will provide state-issued matching grants to local and county law enforcement agencies to purchase and place into service body-worn video cameras. These funds can also be used for training and related expenses of body-worn video cameras purchased. NOTE: Prior to receiving the grant award, grantees are required to provide the Governor's Crime Commission appropriate policies and procedures in place which govern the operation of body-worn cameras; and provide appropriate policies and procedure for proper storage of images recorded with those cameras.

    Additional Information

    Once an agency is awarded a grant, the grantee will be required to submit incurred expenses into the Commission fiscal system for reimbursement. Photos of equipment purchased along with a property control form must also be submitted prior to final reimbursement.

    Award Details

    Up to $2,500,000 is anticipated to be available in total funding for FY 2018. Awards will be up to $100,000. Cost sharing/matching of 50% (dollar-for-dollar) is required.
