They support environmentally-focused organizations and programs that are working to preserve the natural legacy of Georgia.
    • emPowering Education: Georgia Power is dedicated to improving and strengthening educational initiatives to help students across the state build brighter futures. Georgia Power has given funds to educational programming, IT, schools, scholarships, and educator training that focus on STEM areas.
    • emPowering Communities: Georgia Power is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for all citizens of Georgia. As part of that promise, they maintain relationships with key leaders and organizations, so they can work together to help their communities flourish and build a brighter future for Georgia.
     

    History of Funding

    Since its inception, the foundation has contributed over $170 million to qualifying non-profit organizations.

    The Georgia Power Foundation does not provide grants to individuals, private elementary or secondary schools, religious organizations, nor political campaigns or causes. They also do not support organizations whose policies or actions discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, age or disability.

  • Eligibility Details

    501(c)(3) organizations can apply for a Georgia Power grant. Preference is given to Georgia-based organizations with goals to improve the quality of life of Georgia's residents. Governmental units are also eligible for some programs.

    Deadline Details

    Grant requests up to and including $25,000 are evaluated on an ongoing basis. Grant requests greater than $25,000 must be reviewed and approved by the Foundation board, which meets in May, August and December.

    Award Details

    Most awards are $25,000 or less.
