    The mission of the Hudson-Webber Foundation is to improve the quality of life in the metropolitan Detroit community. Areas of interest are as follows:
    • Detroit Physical Revitalization
      • Focuses on activities that support the physical needs of younger generations, particularly housing, retail and "third places";
    • Economic Development
      • Focuses on activities that support economic development for the younger generations, particularly jobs and business opportunities;
    • The Arts
      • Focuses on general program support for Detroit's major art and cultural organizations, primarily organizational development. Support is also provided for selected facility improvement programs.
    • Safe Community
      • Focuses on projects that improve public safety, particularly in greater downtown Detroit
    Projects outside the scope of these program missions generally are not encouraged, unless they relate to a critical community need.

  • Eligibility Details

    Eligible applicants are non-profit, tax exempt organizations. Grants are made to educational institutions and neighborhood organizations only for projects which further the program missions of the Foundation. Funding is concentrated within the City of Detroit. Programs within the Wayne, Oakland and Macomb county area are not excluded from consideration, but are assigned lower priority.

    Award Details

    Award amounts vary by proposal and by program area. The Foundation is particularly interested in providing seed money.
