    Summary

At Bank of America, they are guided by a common purpose to help make financial lives better. Through their focus on Responsible Growth, they deliver for their teammates, clients and shareholders, while addressing economic mobility and social progress focused on the needs of the community. They drive meaningful and sustainable progress to help address society's biggest challenges by aligning all their resources – including financing, client products and services, philanthropy and how they manage their own activities. As part of this work, they develop strong partnerships with nonprofit organizations focused on issues fundamental to economic mobility in low- and moderate-income communities. They focus on improving the lives of individuals and families by investing in health, jobs, and strengthening broader community vitality by addressing needs related to small business resiliency, and community development. Through their partnerships, they support vulnerable populations, including working families, youth, seniors, individuals living with disabilities, veterans, and those impacted by the criminal justice system – enabling them to move forward in their goals.

The Foundation accepts grant request to advance social mobility and economic opportunity through support of any of the following:

    • Ensuring basic human needs: Access to necessities related to health and wellness - including healthcare, disease prevention, healthy food, homelessness, crisis or disaster response.
    • Creating income: Enabling job or career readiness and exposure, sustainable incomes, advancing entrepreneurship, small business and/or financial resilience.
    • Providing stable housing: Ensuring affordable housing solutions and services through creation and preservation of affordable housing, long-term rental housing and home ownership opportunities.
    • Empowering communities: Ensuring inclusive, thriving communities – groups of likeminded people - focused on systemic reform, community leader development, neighborhood revitalization, environmental concerns and the continuation of arts and culture.
